UIDAI ने नागरिकों की सुविधा के लिए आधार ऐप के माध्यम से 1 जुलाई से छह महीने के लिए मुफ्त ईमेल अपडेट की सुविधा शुरू की है। इस कदम का उद्देश्य रीयल-टाइम अलर्ट प्रदान करना और आधार के उपयोग में सुरक्षा बढ़ाना है।

📱 इस पहल की मुख्य विशेषताएं:
- रीयल-टाइम अलर्ट: इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और आईटी मंत्रालय के अनुसार, आधार के साथ ईमेल को लिंक करने से जब भी आधार प्रमाणीकरण (Authentication) अनुरोध निष्पादित किया जाता है, तो उपयोगकर्ताओं को रीयल-टाइम ईमेल नोटिफिकेशन प्राप्त करने में मदद मिलती है।
- बढ़ी हुई सुरक्षा: यह पहल पारदर्शिता को बढ़ाती है और सुरक्षा की एक अतिरिक्त परत (Layer of security) प्रदान करती है, जिससे आधार कार्ड धारक इस बात से अवगत रहते हैं कि उनके आधार का उपयोग कहाँ और किस उद्देश्य से किया जा रहा है।
- ऐप का भारी उपयोग: आधार ऐप पर नई सेवा उपलब्ध होने के दो दिनों के भीतर ही 2.5 लाख से अधिक लोगों ने अपना ईमेल पता अपडेट कर लिया। इसके अलावा, अब तक 40 लाख (Four million) से अधिक लोगों ने अपना मोबाइल नंबर और लगभग 10 लाख लोगों ने अपना पता अपडेट करने के लिए इस ऐप का उपयोग किया है।
🔐 नागरिकों का डिजिटल सशक्तिकरण
सरकार के इस डिजिटल कदम से लोगों की भौतिक 'आधार सेवा केंद्रों' पर निर्भरता काफी कम हो गई है। यह लाखों नागरिकों को अपने स्मार्टफोन से सुरक्षित रूप से अपना डेटा अपडेट करने का अधिकार देता है, जो 'डिजिटल इंडिया' के विजन को और मजबूत करता है।

- Real-Time Alerts: According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, linking an email with Aadhaar helps users receive real-time email notifications whenever their Aadhaar authentication request is executed online or offline.
- Enhanced Security: This initiative significantly enhances transparency and provides an additional layer of security, ensuring that Aadhaar number holders stay informed about the usage of their ID for any purpose.
- Massive Adoption: Within just two days of the rollout, over 2.5 lakh people updated their email addresses. Furthermore, over four million people have used the new Aadhaar App to update their mobile numbers, and around one million have updated their home addresses.
