विदेश मंत्री डॉ. एस. जयशंकर ने लक्जमबर्ग के उप प्रधानमंत्री जेवियर बेटेल के साथ बैठक में दोनों देशों के बीच गहरे विश्वास, अंतरिक्ष और हरित तकनीक में सहयोग तथा भारत-यूरोपीय संघ FTA पर जोर दिया।
विदेश मंत्री डॉ. एस. जयशंकर ने नई दिल्ली की तीन दिवसीय यात्रा पर आए लक्जमबर्ग के उप प्रधानमंत्री और विदेश मामलों के मंत्री जेवियर बेटेल (Xavier Bettel) के साथ उच्च स्तरीय वार्ता की। डॉ. जयशंकर ने जोर देकर कहा कि ऐसे युग में जहां पूरी दुनिया अनिश्चितता से चिंतित है, भारत और लक्जमबर्ग एक बेहद भरोसेमंद रिश्ता साझा करते हैं।
- क्षेत्रीय सहयोग का विस्तार: जहां व्यापार, निवेश और वित्तीय सहयोग इस रिश्ते का मुख्य आधार रहे हैं, वहीं अब दोनों देश अंतरिक्ष अन्वेषण (space), डिजिटल बुनियादी ढांचे और हरित प्रौद्योगिकियों (green technologies) में भी सहयोग तलाश रहे हैं।
- सप्लाई चेन और FTA: कोविड (COVID) महामारी के बाद बढ़ते स्वास्थ्य सहयोग का उल्लेख करते हुए, विदेश मंत्री ने यूरोप के साथ आपूर्ति श्रृंखला के लचीलेपन (supply chain resilience) पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने आगामी भारत-यूरोपीय संघ मुक्त व्यापार समझौते (India-EU FTA) के लिए मजबूत समर्थन देने हेतु लक्जमबर्ग को धन्यवाद दिया।
- वैश्विक शांतिदूत के रूप में भारत: उप प्रधानमंत्री बेटेल ने द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को विश्वसनीय और ईमानदार बताया। उन्होंने वैश्विक संघर्षों से प्रभावित देशों के बीच 'पुल बनाने' और एक शांतिदूत (peacemaker) के रूप में भारत की भूमिका के लिए भारतीय नेतृत्व को धन्यवाद दिया।
- रणनीतिक संबंधों को गहरा करना: लक्जमबर्ग के अर्थव्यवस्था मंत्री के साथ श्री बेटेल की यह यात्रा, दोनों देशों के बीच बढ़ती साझेदारी को एक व्यापक आर्थिक और कूटनीतिक गठबंधन में बदलने का रणनीतिक प्रयास है।
लक्जमबर्ग यूरोपीय संघ (EU) के भीतर एक प्रमुख वित्तीय केंद्र है। भारत-ईयू एफटीए (India-EU FTA) के लिए इसका मजबूत समर्थन हासिल करके और पारंपरिक वित्त से हटकर हाई-टेक क्षेत्रों (अंतरिक्ष, हरित तकनीक और डिजिटल) पर ध्यान केंद्रित करके, भारत यूरोप की इंडो-पैसिफिक रणनीति में खुद को एक अपरिहार्य भू-राजनीतिक शक्ति के रूप में स्थापित कर रहा है।

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar held high-level talks with Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Xavier Bettel, during his three-day visit to New Delhi. Dr. Jaishankar emphasized that in an era plagued by global uncertainty, India and Luxembourg share a highly trusted and resilient relationship.
- Expanding Sectoral Cooperation: While trade, investment, and financial cooperation remain the heart of the relationship, both nations are now actively exploring advanced collaborations in space exploration, digital infrastructure, and green technologies.
- Supply Chains & FTA: Noting the growth in post-COVID health cooperation, the EAM highlighted efforts toward supply chain resilience and diversification with Europe. He specifically thanked Luxembourg for its strong support regarding the upcoming India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
