केंद्र सरकार ने उच्चतम न्यायालय को ₹24,000 करोड़ के बजट वाली 5 वर्षीय पुलिस आधुनिकीकरण योजना की जानकारी दी। इस योजना का उद्देश्य राज्य पुलिस बलों और केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों (CAPFs) को आधुनिक तकनीकों, उन्नत बुनियादी ढांचे और आधुनिक हथियारों से लैस करना है।
केंद्र सरकार ने उच्चतम न्यायालय (Supreme Court) को सूचित किया है कि देश भर में राज्य पुलिस बलों और केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों (CAPFs) को आधुनिक बनाने के लिए अगले 5 वर्षों में ₹24,000 करोड़ की एक व्यापक अम्ब्रेला योजना लागू की जा रही है।
- तकनीकी उन्नयन (Tech Upgradation): पुलिस प्रणाली में फॉरेंसिक साक्ष्य संग्रह, साइबर अपराध जांच, और आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI) आधारित निगरानी तंत्र का बड़े पैमाने पर विस्तार किया जाएगा।
- स्मार्ट पुलिसिंग और बुनियादी ढांचा: पुलिस थानों के आधुनिकीकरण, आधुनिक हथियार-गोला बारूद की आपूर्ति, और कुशल संचार नेटवर्क स्थापित करने के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
- CAPFs और राज्य बलों का सुदृढ़ीकरण: यह योजना न केवल राज्य स्तर की पुलिस को बल्कि केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों (जैसे BSF, CRPF, CISF) की परिचालन क्षमताओं को भी सुदृढ़ करेगी।
- सुप्रीम कोर्ट को जवाब: यह जानकारी पुलिस सुधारों और सुरक्षा अवसंरचना में सुधार से जुड़ी जनहित याचिकाओं की सुनवाई के दौरान सर्वोच्च अदालत के समक्ष प्रस्तुत की गई।
