रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने लंबी दूरी की 'सतह से हवा' में मार करने वाली मिसाइल (LR-SAM) 'कुशा' (Kusha) का पहला उड़ान परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक पूरा कर लिया है। ओडिशा के तट पर डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम द्वीप से किए गए इस परीक्षण में मिसाइल ने उच्च गति और अधिक ऊंचाई वाले हवाई खतरे की नकल करने वाले इलेक्ट्रॉनिक लक्ष्य को सफलतापूर्वक नष्ट कर दिया।

- घातक मारक क्षमता: रक्षा मंत्रालय के अनुसार, 'कुशा' मिसाइल प्रणाली लड़ाकू विमानों, मिसाइलों, मानव रहित हवाई वाहनों (UAV) और दुश्मन के बड़े विमानों सहित हवाई खतरों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला को बेअसर करने में सक्षम है।

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the long-range surface-to-air missile (LR-SAM) 'Kusha'. The test was executed from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha, successfully intercepting an electronic target simulating a high-speed, high-altitude aerial threat.

- Lethal Interception: According to the Ministry of Defence, the Kusha missile system is highly capable of neutralizing a wide range of aerial threats, including fighter aircraft, incoming missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and large enemy aircraft across a broad range and altitude envelope.
